This past Sunday afternoon was on tap to be warm warm warm. What that means in Seattle and surrounding area is that it will be 70 degrees. People wear flip flops and shorts in 65 degree weather around here. When I first moved here I thought that was ridiculously strange, but now 4 1/2 years later, I must admit that I am guilty of the same.We acclimate. Get over it.
Since it was going to be warm we planned to dust off the ol’ road bikes and go explore our new neighborhood. We found some good stuff.
First thing we found (on purpose) was Starbucks for some 1/2 price frappes.

The Starbucks is two hop skips and a jump away from this place.

It’s really bad you guys, I am super happy for my mouth and yet super scared for my waistline being close to all this yumminess. Especially coming up on summer. #weareinserioustrouble
We road slowly sped down the road and explored a couple of neighborhoods. We stalked all of our psuedo neighbors and then saw this beautiful view as we were headed back to our neck of the woods.

Then we took a right instead of a left and found this awesomeness. Literally about 5 min walk from our house.

Its part of a trail that we know and love but we weren’t exactly sure where it was in relation to our house. Welp, its close. Super close. I consider this to offset the Starbucks and fro-yo b/c I am sure we will frequent this trail OFTEN this summer.

Paul likes to flex when I bust out the camera

About 5 seconds earlier I had a bug stuck in that lipgloss. Classy.
We found some bunny rabbits for Kyle to chase after.

Got a better view of the majestic Mt. Rainier. And some beautiful dumpsters.

And then on our way back to the house we found two full packs of Rolo’s laying in the road!!

Ummm…yeah this was our day. I was hesitant to eat them, they were in the road…but they were fully wrapped with no damage. Paul was all about it. I was like, “what if someone poisoned them?”
Being a kid in the 80′s with all the Halloween nightmare stories has obviously affected me permanently.
All in all we covered a little over 5 miles and are already looking forward to our next ride!
Do you like to bike?
Would you eat Rolo’s you found in the road?

Bugs in lip gloss?! Yuck! Growing up (in Cleveland) I remember the boys at school wearing shorts when it hit 50. I’m a little worried about acclimating when I head back. Now 50 is winter to me!

Hilarious! Of all the things to find on the ground…Rolos! I had completely forgotten about them.

Haha you crack me up about the Rollo’s! I don’t think I could have eaten them, but I SURE would have been tempted!

i was too, but I just couldn’t do it! HA!
The rolos would’ve freaked me out too. I can just hear my mom’s voice in my head “it could be poisoned!” haha
yep, that’s right where I went. Someone poisoned them and left them on the ground so they could kill some unsuspecting bikers? Who does that? LOL.
Sbux & fro-yo is where it’s at. And close trails!!! Hooray!!!!! I’ve been eyeing that frapp deal too!!
its only through SUNDAY so you gotta do it! And yes, the close trail was a very exciting discovery. Never been quite that close to one before!!
Looks like a fun area. Don’t get too attached. My guess is the Army will get all the paperwork organized and off you will go to parts of the country currently unknown. Yuma, Arizona maybe. Brownsville, Texas. No green parks to ride your bikes, just hot brown dirt (sand). Maybe somewhere in Kentucky, then I could come visit when I make my trips to the several business operations there. Only time will tell. Have fun.
thanks for the encouragement dad! We will try to make the best of it before we are shipped off to the desert?
The names of all the froyo places are just getting more and more ridiculous. I have never heard of this one before but hopefully it was good! They are terrible for my wallet so I am very glad I do not live near one!
I know, I am seriously scared for us!!
