We all know I am a Groupon addict right?
Did you catch this on the email from Groupon a few days ago? Apparently it was on the news but I completely missed it. I saw the email and looked at the deals but didnt even pay attention to the subject line. However, when I got the next Fathers day email from them (which had me completely confused) I went and fished this out of my deleted to take a look.
Apparently, some people thought it was a mistake. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t, but the next email was definitely intentional.
man who gave birth to you….def could be a mistake…or just a subtle way of making you look twice…..
Then the follow up email came a few days later and this one I definitely caught the subject line.
I read it like 6 times….”for the man who felt you kick inside him for nine months”. I was like, “what the heck does that mean? That makes NO SENSE!” Forget the picture of the PREGNANT MAN on the email…HELLO!!
Oh yeah, I remember now, Groupon has a sense of humor!!
Funny, funny stuff Groupon. Well played.
I shouldn’t be surprised because Groupon obviously has a sense of humor. Have you ever read the little things that Groupon puts at the bottom of the “deals” for the day? They are HY.STER.I.CAL.
Who has this job of writing these things for them and how do I get hired?
Although, in reality, I’m probably not funny enough to write for them. I like to think I am, but this is funny stuff. Way beyond my league I think. Its so subtle too, that makes it even more delicious.
Here are a couple of examples:
I added in the lines just to highlight the funniness (in case you have no sense of humor and don’t get it)
A little bit ‘o rhyming…
I am also a fan of putting “super” before words, to emphasize their importance…and the birthday candle one had me rolling….
And these are just a couple of funny things I have seen on Groupon…
I’m sure they are probably real but they make me LOL so again, well played Groupon. Thank you for making me grin.

I am currently addicted to Groupon since moving to DC. they have the best deals. That is freaking hilarious, oh my goodness. I did not catch that at all!
