One Lovely Blog

by eatpraytri on June 9, 2012

Yesterday I got a awesome surprise in my inbox. And it wasn’t that I won a year supply of Groupons (take a second and think about how awesome that would be)

I was given the One Lovely Blog award by Kristen!

Kristen is just the best and she really helped make my Friday spectacular by passing this on to me! :)

What does it all mean? (double rainbow!!!)

  • I am supposed to link back to the blogger who nominated me
  • Paste the award imagine on my blog, anywhere
  • Share 7 facts about myself
  • Nominate some other blogs
  • Post a comment on these blogs letting them know you nominated them

Easy peasy, lets get to it

1) I have a thing for maps. I love them. I love looking at them, studying them, hanging them around my house….I don’t know why I’m so obsessed with them, but I just can’t get enough!

2) These are my #1 favorite (non-chocolate) candy.

Chewy spree comes in a close second, but these little sour worms just bring me so much joy. Oddly I hate all other sour things. Like can.not.stand. But these I love. Its quite the conundrum

3) I’m not really afraid of anything other than cockroaches. I was talking to Gina about this the other day. When I was younger we were always dealing with cockroaches being in our house. They are just very prevalent in Albuquerque. I’ve had one in my shoe that I put on, I grabbed one inadvertently one time while grabbing a wooden board and have had not one but TWO in my bed (on separate occasions). All of this has lead me to have an intense hatred for these crunchy little buggers. Thank goodness they don’t really seem to exist in Seattle.

4) I used to work in a casino. I could probably write a whole other blog on stories alone from casino work and Human Resources work.

5) I just got a new bike. In addition to my other bike. Now we are a seven bike family. Its OOC. (out of control)

Thats a lot of bicycles on a van 14953 1296659991 3

6) I used to work at the happiest place on earth…aka…Target. I can’t see someone dressed in red and khaki and NOT call them a Target team member. I also can never wear this combination of clothes again.

7) I have some big news. But I can’t share it for a while. I’m so mean huh? And no I’m not pregnant. That would be a little difficult given Paul and his encounter with these

Scissors

TMI? Sorry that’s what ya get.

OK…time for me to nominate

Hooray, I love surveys! I hope to do this this week. I also LOVE those sour gummy worms. They are my fave candy of the gummy variety.

And I can’t even imagine the stories you must have from working in a casino…

Oh my! I’m honored! Zankiu, zankiu (yeah, that’s the Miamian thank you). Ok I also love those sour worms and I am also terrified of roaches, yes I’m known for crying when I have to spray one when hubby is not home :s
And God knows what he does if I was to ever work in Target my paycheck would never make it home, I would spend it there as fast as they can issue it. If not just ask hubby about this weekend Target trip. He was like WHAT? But kids needed summer clothes! He just don’t get it.
Ok you can share Paul’s intimidate details but not your big news? Uh, I will still be praying for you.
Thanks again for the nomination!

Yes when I worked at Target it was BAD NEWS. My checkbook said Target on every other entry. :) I know, I’m so mean for not sharing my big news…all in good time! Thanks for the prayers!!! :)

I love chewy sprees, I was just talking about those yesterday! Also, roaches in your bed? I’m afraid of them and I’ve never even seen one in real life, so you win that one!

Just wanted to clarify for everyone that the two roaches in Cinnamon’s bed were NOT the result of her mother’s poor housekeeping. Roaches in Albuquerque are so hardy, it’s almost impossible to eliminate them completely from houses and the things in the houses. Those of us who have lived here most of our lives pretty much grow accustomed to keeping an eye out for them and get very adept at crunching them as we walk around. Cinnamon’s inability to adapt may have had something to do with her relocation to Seattle. (Smart woman) Our dogs (who are typically very sweet and loving) stalk them and toy with them for awhile before finally killing them. Kinda funny to watch in a gross kinda way.

thanks for clearing that up mom ;-) And yes, I think they were def on the list of reasons why to move to Seattle. To escape them!

Roaches…in your BED?! I seriously would’ve died from a panic attack. I’m thinking about it and literally getting all cold and itchy just sitting here. Ewwwwwww.
Also, #7 is hysterical. A funny story related to those scissors…friends of ours just had their (unplanned) 3rd kid and the husband went out and got a vasectomy WITHOUT his wive’s consent. They’re still not speaking to each other, 2 weeks later.

Now I am intrigued! I can’t believe you used to work at Target and a casino, that is kind of awesome. I could eat sour candy till my mouth went sore. So addicting.

Oh, how I love you. I literally just laughed out loud at the sight of those scissors. Hilarious.

Annndd I think because I’m one of your blogger BFF’s, I deserve an email telling me the news. I’m just sayin’. ;)

(I’m partly teasing, but I really would love to hear if you could tell me haha!)
