Whadda ya know? It’s Wednesday again. We all know what that means. (<—- there are 6 W’s in that intro! That seems like a lot to me for being such an obscure letter.) Random.
Its’ time for some WIAW lovin’. Thanks to our awesome hostess Jenn for the party!!
Since I pretty much stink at snacking and all the same snacks I have shown you before are exactly what I continued to eat all of last week…..I wanted to show you what went down last Wednesday.
Oh but before I do that…here is at least one snack I had this week.
You know you love the pretzel bun. I just got word that they are selling these at the Costco in Albuquerque. RUN don’t walk to go and get some. (I mean…finish reading this first…but then after that….)
Last Wednesday I got to go to a Sounders game (Seattle soccer for those of you not in the know…) as part of a work function. We got to sit in one of the boxes and I got a parking pass. Entertainment that doesn’t involve dealing with parking, paying for parking, walking from parking, and not having to sit amongst some loud crazy soccer fans spilling $10 beer all over me? Sure, I’m into that. (Don’t worry lots of what I ate is further down the page….)
Most of the rest of the peeps that were coming took a bus over to the stadium but I drove myself. That meant I got there early and ended up being alone in the box. I felt extremely full-time fancy for the 10 min I was there all by my lonesome.
And I could take pictures of the room and the food without feeling like a complete weirdo and having to explain myself to a bunch of people who don’t care anyway.
Each box has their own private bathroom. I was very excited about this for some reason.
And the food…ohhh the food. Let me just tell you how hard it was not to just dive into all this stuff before everyone else got there. Especially when you see the cheese plate. I can’t remember the last time I held such restraint.
Ok here it is. I mean look at that. A thing of beauty indeed. I tried every kind on the plate. The Gouda, goat, blue and brie were my favorites. I know that’s like half of it, but what can I say, I have never met a cheese I didn’t like.
I had one of the peanut butter cookies and half of a blondie triangle thing.
Is this not the coolest thing? I love this city so much.
This was so much fun. Last year I was invited to sit in the box as well and was so excited that I got to do it again. I love going to all sorts of sporting events, and enjoy being down in the crowd as well, but being able to sit comfortably and have all this yummy food right at your disposal? Well, its just plain cool. My job may def have its challenges, but it for sure has its perks as well.
In the off chance I get to go again AND am the first one there, I’m thinking the cheese plate just goes in my purse and we act like it was never there to begin with?
Have you ever been able to sit in a box at a professional sporting event? Did you get yummy food and an amazing cheese plate too?

I love getting to sit in the suites! When I was in high school my dad’s company had tickets to the Cleveland Cavs’ suite. My sister and I loved the dessert cart when there weren’t clients to entertain and we could go!

The box sounds awesome. I would be pumped about the person bathroom. I always hate leaving to go, but I always drink a lot (of diet coke) lol. Fun!!!!!!

me too! The closer and less complicated it is to get to the bathroom, the better!
So this reminds me of a story…… pardon the personal tangent.
I’m a huge baseball fan. To be more specific, I’m a huge cheap-bleacher-seat-oversized-beer kinda baseball fan. In college I was close to my beloved Cleveland Indians and would make it up for quite a few games. Started sorta dating this one girl and she invited me to a game. Golden! On the way up, she tells me we’ll be sitting in a suite (my first time) and her Dad is a State Senator.
I show up to a luxury box that is full of stuffy suits rubbing elbows. I’m the only one wearing a jersey, Wahoo cap, who sat outside and actually watched the game. Didn’t stop me from taunting the opposing bad guys and thoroughly enjoying the free beer though.
I still prefer the cheap seats.
Glad you enjoyed your match!

lol. I knew it was going to be good when I read…”her Dad is a State Senator” ha!
Yes, I agree if you are really into the team a stuffy box is not the best for game experience. but the free stuff is still pretty sweetness
pretzel buns?!?!? Yum! Love it! That is a beautiful spread too. May I as who did your site design? It’s gorgeous.

I love pro sports events! I was in a box at a brewers game and the amount of food was AMAZING. I know I’ve said it before, but pretzel rolls are my life

I know mine too, I think its becoming a problem…
I’ve never been to a soccer game, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I didn’t even know that there was like a league outside of the world soccer league lol I’m more of a basketball, baseball, football girl, but now I’m totally jealous that you got to eat all of this crazy yummy food and have a fun box room. Now I need to get into soccer lol

haha…soccer games are actually REALLY fun. The crowd is usually VERY high spirited and energetic. But luckily they don’t get super crazy like they do overseas. I love me some football too. Games are so much fun!
YUM!!!!
I dont remember a cheese plate though!
i sat in a box at a baseball game one time and it was awesome!! def lots of yummy food

maybe some chick had already put it in her purse!! HA! She is super smart. lol
Haha, that is awesome! You are one lucky lady for sure. The cheese plate is my favorite, and yes, pretzel buns are wonderful! They got them at Wegman’s here, but they put salt chunks on it. I like it that way but my husband prefers them w/out. He says it’s the closest thing to a “real” pretzel like in Germany! BTW, how’d you like the game?
Jennifer@The Foodery recently posted..WIAW #9, Featuring Raw Chocolate Chip Cookies
the game was GREAT! It was 1-1 when I left and I think it stayed that way. But the crowd was super energetic and fun to watch. AND the weather was awesome.
A Pretzel bun with salt already in it?!?!? I have to find that. I always put salt on mine b/c to me that’s just how a pretzel should be!
Wow they really catered you guys well! Seriously, that sure is great game food.

yes I knew I was doomed the minute I walked in and saw it. Trouble with a capitol T.
Wow – best stadium food EVER! haha I too am a big fan of pretzel buns. A German restaurant near me brings them out in the bread basket before dinner. It’s so hard not to spoil my meal with them!
Tiff @ Love Sweat and Beers recently posted..Lean, Green WIAW Machine
Ohh emm goodness. I can’t even imagine a basket of them before dinner. I would probably order nothing and just eat those the whole night!!
I’ve never sat in a box but it def looks like the way to watch a game. What fun! And the parking pass! Now I’m trying to figure out what is in the salad. Looks yummy!

I didn’t get a notice so thanks for the heads up. Heading over there now….
Wow. It is a miracle you managed to restrain yourself with that beautiful cheese plate! I would have definitely gone overboard. With the pasta and cookie tray, too, though haha. It looks fantastic! I have never sat in a box seat before but now I aim to!

it was seriously one of the hardest things I have done all year. LOL You should totally make it a life goal to sit in a box. Everyone should experience it!
I love your WIAW blogs. I rather enjoy the pics and drool over them. The salad looks divine!
mmmm it was all pretty amazing. I spilled a whole plate of food on the floor (classy) so I had to get another plate. I felt bad for wasting such deliciousness.
