We all saw that one coming right? RIGHT?
However, Jenn over at Peas and Crayons threw me for a loop….July’s theme is incorporating fitness??? Wha wahhhhh?!?!
Short answer: not much
Long answer: Life has been getting in the way. I was doing some more yoga at a studio by our house on a 20 for $20 deal but when that ran out, I was kind of left stumped. Two kids in the house and tons of activities going on in addition to the full time job and commute. I know its all about choices and priorities and I’m not going to say “there is just no time” because I KNOW…that is simply not true. There is always time for what you want to make time for…I have just been choosing other things right now.
- I have been choosing to get up at 5am every morning to do quiet time with Paul…reading the Bible and doing the #SheReadsTruth studies. I am NOT a morning person but I tell ya…this is something that actually gets me out of bed every morning. Its humbling and beautiful the way God works in lives (especially mine!)
- I have been choosing to come home make dinner, spend time with Paul and the kiddos and not kill myself to get to the gym every night. I know that soon enough they will be gone for a few weeks and there will be lots more time to refocus my priorities.
- I choose to feel good about myself. This is a subject that deserves a whole post (or two or three) on it’s own, but when it comes down to it…I’m not the skinniest person out there or the most beautiful person out there and I don’t ALWAYS love what I see in the mirror, BUT despite all of that...I have joy. I have a husband who loves me and tells me I am beautiful, I have friends who aren’t my friends because I wear a size 6 (which I’m not in case that didn’t come across), they love me for being me!
All that being said, I like challenging myself physically and I have big things planned for the future. A lot of this is related to our news that I have yet to share…but I’m pretty darn excited about it.
Blah, blah, blah…lets looks at some camping food shall we?
Eggs and Bacon on morning 1
French Toast and sausage on morning 2
Grilled cheese lunch on afternoon 2 and smiley face hamburger on evening 2. Kyle cooked the burger and Kaylee prepared it for me with the smiley face. Kids FTW! Guinn thought he was getting some too and was lickin his chops in anticipation.
Bet your campfire we had smores both nights. Poor Guinn didn’t get any. I’m so mean.
Beer of choice for the trip. Crisp and refreshing
Wilderness Bar? (I didn’t buy this but saw it at Cabelas on our way there. Isn’t this really just a candy bar? I mean c’mon!! Chocolate and caramel….its like a big Rolo…) Funny
We picked 19 lbs of cherries…any one have any cherry recipes they want to share? PLEASE I’M BEGGING YOU!
Pineapple and bubble gum Hawaiian shaved ice that we stopped for when we were leaving. $3 for a big cup of sugar water. Brilliant. (them not us)
We may or may not have stopped at Sonic on the way home.
why they have Sonics in all these little towns around Washington but they have ZERO in the main Seattle area is beyond me. I just don’t get it. SONIC- what gives? Oh well, makes for good treats on road trips.
btw…they were “out of large size drinks”…this is why we have Route 44. Pinky promise.
What do you like to eat when you go camping?
Do you have Sonic where you are and if so can I come live by you?
