Last week, literally right as we were leaving to go camping I got two emails from two lovely ladies who had picked/nominated/chosen (never sure of the right terminology for these things) me for a couple of “blogger awards”. I was just incredibly humbled and excited about both of them, but haven’t had a chance to talk about them until now. So here we go! Jennifer at The Foodery chose me for the Sunshine Award.
Here is how it works.
This prize is awarded to “bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere”. As an award winner, there are a few rules to follow:
- Thank the person who gave this award and write a post about it.
- Answer the questions below.
- Pass on the award to 10 fabulous bloggers, link their blogs, and let them know you awarded them.
1. favorite color? Right now it is dark navy blue. It used to be purple, but recently I decided to make some changes around here and that was the first. ???
2. favorite animal? I think this should be pretty obvious if you even visit my blog once, but I for sure love dogs.
3. favorite number? 23 (who knew?)
4. favorite color? again? lets stick with the dark navy blue
5. favorite drink? probably water. That is what I drink the most of anyway. But I do also love a nice glass of iced tea.
6. Facebook or Twitter? Well it used to be Facebook hands down, but as I get more into Twitter, the more I like it. I pretty much think I stink at it and would like to get better.
7. what is your passion? To teach and write
8. giving or getting presents? oh giving for sure. There is nothing quite like getting something for someone that you KNOW they will LOVE and then seeing their excitement when they get it.
9. favorite day of the week? Sunday. Church, class and usually some fun activity followed by chillin. Love.
10. favorite flower? Cali lillies
Thanks so much
Jennifer…this really made my day!

That cherry pie looks amaze balls! I find pies to be really difficult to bake.

You’re so lucky that your favorite drink is water. I need to drink more H20 when I’m not running or exercising. Seriously

I used to never drink water, but suddenly it just became my fave. I probably drink 80-100 oz a day and if I don’t have it nearby for some reason, I miss it!! I’m all about staying uuber hydrated!
And you’re welcome for the nom. I love your blog, so fun!

Woo hoo! Two awards, and you are definitely one happy camper, I tell you! Your cherry pie looks awesome, and since I’ve only had it a couple times, I think I’d pick that over the cookies (sorry cookies!) Cute bag, cuter pup, and wherever that vacation spot is, I hope you have a great time. Happy Friday!

Thanks Jennifer! You really made my day. The cherry pie is ridiculously good (if I do say so myself). And we are going to Cabo……my mind is already on the beach….
Happy Friday to you!

You THINK you have a problem with handbags??? You DO, girl…you really do.
As problems go, however, I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it.
i know i know…its good Paul thinks its cute and not super annoying. I TRY to control myself….

baking or cooking blunders always taste the best, you don’t feel as bad not sharing them when they technically have messed up! I have a problem with bags too, if I could I would buy so many. So many.

I’m glad you tried them (and liked them) . . . not sure what was different though. I seem to recall really using packed flour so maybe that made a difference? Maybe I need to weigh things, but that would assume that everyone else has a scale which chances are they don’t. Sigh, this “food blogging” thing is complicated. One of my friends asked me if she could sub in all purpose flour in this recipe. I had to google it. Did you use a silpat or grease the baking sheet? This was my first time baking cookies with a silpat.
Thanks for the award nomination!
Joanna @ Midwestern Bite recently posted..Sweet and Sour Sweet Potato Salad . . . with Bacon
Its funny that you mention a silpat b/c I actually DID use one and it was the first time I have ever used one. I just had this random thought before I was gonna put them in the oven “I should use THIS!” haha… The more I think about it, I think it might have been the almond flour. Mine was pretty fluffy, and if yours was packed…that might have made a big difference. Don’t get me wrong, they are still DELICIOUS, they just kind of spread out all over the pan as opposed to staying thick. I was actually thinking of trying them again with regular flour to see what happens. I will let you know what transpires. I love a good experiment!

I made another batch tonight (although with blackberries instead) and they came out just the same as the raspberry ones. I edited my post to add “packed” almond flour. Thanks for being my guinea pig
