Sunshine and Versatility

by eatpraytri on July 6, 2012

Last week, literally right as we were leaving to go camping I got two emails from two lovely ladies who had picked/nominated/chosen (never sure of the right terminology for these things) me for a couple of “blogger awards”. I was just incredibly humbled and excited about both of them, but haven’t had a chance to talk about them until now.  So here we go! Jennifer at The Foodery chose me for the Sunshine Award. Sunshine blog award Here is how it works.

This prize is awarded to “bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere”As an award winner, there are a few rules to follow:

And THANK YOU so much for nominating me for the Sunshine award!! What an uplifting title :) . I seriously have a problem when it comes to handbags as well! I.just.can’t.resist..
That cherry pie looks amaze balls! I find pies to be really difficult to bake.
On a side note, I don’t want to sound all stalker-ish, but I just LOVE reading the comments from your mom! I just feel so much love and support! Hope you have a fantastic Friday!

Thank you so much for the nomination!!!! I’ll be sure to do a post tomorrow or Sunday :-) You’re so lucky that your favorite drink is water. I need to drink more H20 when I’m not running or exercising. Seriously

Woo hoo! Two awards, and you are definitely one happy camper, I tell you! Your cherry pie looks awesome, and since I’ve only had it a couple times, I think I’d pick that over the cookies (sorry cookies!) Cute bag, cuter pup, and wherever that vacation spot is, I hope you have a great time. Happy Friday! :D

You THINK you have a problem with handbags??? You DO, girl…you really do.

As problems go, however, I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it.

baking or cooking blunders always taste the best, you don’t feel as bad not sharing them when they technically have messed up! I have a problem with bags too, if I could I would buy so many. So many.

I’m glad you tried them (and liked them) . . . not sure what was different though. I seem to recall really using packed flour so maybe that made a difference? Maybe I need to weigh things, but that would assume that everyone else has a scale which chances are they don’t. Sigh, this “food blogging” thing is complicated. One of my friends asked me if she could sub in all purpose flour in this recipe. I had to google it. Did you use a silpat or grease the baking sheet? This was my first time baking cookies with a silpat.

Thanks for the award nomination!

Its funny that you mention a silpat b/c I actually DID use one and it was the first time I have ever used one. I just had this random thought before I was gonna put them in the oven “I should use THIS!” haha… The more I think about it, I think it might have been the almond flour. Mine was pretty fluffy, and if yours was packed…that might have made a big difference. Don’t get me wrong, they are still DELICIOUS, they just kind of spread out all over the pan as opposed to staying thick. I was actually thinking of trying them again with regular flour to see what happens. I will let you know what transpires. I love a good experiment! :)

I made another batch tonight (although with blackberries instead) and they came out just the same as the raspberry ones. I edited my post to add “packed” almond flour. Thanks for being my guinea pig ;)
