I’m takin a little breaky break from WIAW this week. Looking through my phone for the past few days and I see one picture of food.
This.

The reasons for my fall from grace as a blogger who shows her food on the internet (didn’t feel right to say a “food blogger”, b/c let’s face it, I’m not) are many…
- leftovers were consumed
- eating at a salad bar (those plates are just a hot mess usually, this time was no exception)
- days ‘out on the town’ where I did capture above picture, but dinner was pizza thrown in the oven because Paul and I were both exhausted to the point of not even being able to begin to think about making dinner
- phones left upstairs whilst dinner was ready downstairs (who wants to go upstairs when the food is just.right.there.)
So there you have it. No food this week. Instead I have pictures of the weekend. It was a pretty fun one.
Well except when Guinness went all watch dog and knocked over a kid. That guy, I swear.
Friday I worked from home. Which meant breakfast on the patio while I did my #SheReadsTruth devo. Lovely.

Friday night, we piled into the car and made an unplanned trip to Zoopas. I say unplanned because well, we didn’t plan to go there. Instead we were supposed to go to a Teppanyaki place that I had a Groupon for. However the restaurant was empty and there was a 30 min wait. Explain that. We had a movie to catch so had to find somewhere else. Zoopas it was. Then we saw The Amazing Spider-Man
Saturday was our “family fun day”.
We hit up the Market in Issaquah.

And found the most hugemongous snap peas known to man.

Then we headed into Seattle to go to the “big” market. Pike Place.
We revisited the spot where Paul and I first “met” in person. aka…where it all started back in 2010.
We met right here.

I went to shake is hand and he went for the hug. It was awkward and funny and so “us” before we were even “us”. This spot is right in front of this iconic place.

We went inside so that Paul could get me the original anniversary gift that he wanted to get for me. He looked for it online but it wouldn’t have arrived in time so he didn’t get it. But he got it today.

Its a little charm for my necklace. So cute huh? Since I lost the charm that had our wedding date on it, this is such a cute replacement. Where we met…. (all together now..) awwww…..
Guess what’s going in right across the street?

yep. The happiest place on earth. Downtown edition.
Got a pic of the kiddos in front of the “sign”

Then we asked K-dawg to take one of us, with the sign

Apparently he heard “take one with us and random plaid shirt guy”
We walked around the market and I found these

And then we went to the park and saw the big new ferris wheel

And then walked back through the market looking for food
(insert pic from above..you don’t need to see it again right?)
Then we headed out to go and Ride the Ducks!!

Basically a giant bus/car/boat thing that takes you around the city and then drives into Lake Union. Fun! They play loud music and tell bad jokes and its just a typical touristy thing.

Whoever can spot the difference in the next two photos gets 10 points. And no its NOT the ‘quacker” in Kaylees mouth.

Our driver and his crazy hats

And on the lake!

And then my phone pretty much died.
Buuut that was the end of the day (aside from going home, napping, making pizza and sleepy blogging)
On Sunday we hit up church, food and then went to go swimming at the same lake we went to on the 4th. I have no pictures because basically I was grumpy. I dislike being all Negative Nelly, but I was just having one of those everything-that-can-go-wrong-will afternoons.
Guinness barking and jumping up on a little kid and knocking him over didn’t help. AT ALL.
I was so mortified and embarrassed. I {for one second} wasn’t prepared and in that one second he leaped away faster than I could pull back his leash. Guinness isn’t a biter, but he has a fierce bark. It scares me sometimes. And the kid was basically as tall as Guinness is on his hind legs, so he tumbled right over and of course started screaming bloody murder. The father of the kid gave me a death look. I was by myself because Paul and the kids were swimming and I didn’t know what to do so I just sat there and cried.
By myself.
On a blanket in the middle of a busy park on a beautiful sunny day.
Not good times for Cinnamon.
But I got over it and went home and had a great meal (phone was upstairs, it was great I promise) and then the day ended with this.
And the uuber awesome instagram version….
And there you have it!
Have you ever had a ginormous snap pea?
Have you ever ridden the Ducks?
Has your dog every thoroughly embarrassed you?
Do you get 10 points?

My dog embarrasses me all.the.time. He’s a rescue dog, and still has issues leftover from abuse. People always ask if he’s friendly on walks, and I think he is, but I’m not totally confident, and because I’m totally nervous, I answer no to be safe. The looks I get make me feel like the worst owner ever. Embarrassed for sure. The rest of your weekend looks awesome though! (Especially that Friday breakfast!)

it did! Well, they did…I might have had more than one.
No ginormous snap peas …
Riding the ducks shortly after you moved to Seattle is one of the highlights of my long, but rather uneventful life.
All of my dogs have consistently embarrassed me for more years than I can remember.
Paul and Kaylee switched sunglasses … 10 points?
So sorry about your rotten day. But you did the right thing. Something about a good cry helps like nothing else can. Hope the rest of the week is much better!
WHAT? your life is pretty darn eventful if I say so myself. You do, in fact, have ME as a daughter
10 points for you!!!
We thought Kona was mute bc he didn’t bark for a year! However, one day out of nowhere, he started barking at the sound of the doorbell. Since then, he hasn’t quit that bad habit! It’s so frustrating! But..I gotta remember what an awesome dog he is…He can’t be perfect all the time! Need to cut him some slack
. Or at least that’s what I tell myself

yeah Guinn is a doorbell barker too. Even if it rings on the TV. He goes all crazy. That is so weird that he didn’ bark for a year!!
I’m pretty sure I’ve had those same macarons from the same place (if it’s the one I’m thinking of in the market area). Soooooo delicious
